PRODUCT DESCRIPTION The Canon EF 2x III Extender is designed to select Canon EF L-series telephoto lenses. It increases the focal length of a lens by a factor of 2x while providing excellent image quality. To ensure the best possible image quality in all shooting conditions, it combines optics, improved data communication between the camera lens and enhanced environmental protection redesigned. It is ideal for photojournalists and wildlife, nature and sports photographers who need to get close to distant and challenging objects and reduces the need to carry heavy telephoto lenses. The EF 2x III Extender features nine optical elements in five groups, ensuring optimum optical performance. All optical elements have Canon's Super Spectra coating to reduce ghosts and reflections. A new fluoride coating on the front and back elements makes marks, such as spots left by water or fingerprints, much easier to clean than conventional coatings. To facilitate the accurate transfer of image data between the lens and the camera body, the Extender features an integrated processor that ensures full focus, measurement and ID information is available - allowing the photographer to capture well-balanced, well-exposed images. When combined with the latest Canon range of premium L-Series lenses, these extenders allow AF accuracy even when capturing moving objects. When connected, the 2x extender reduces the maximum effective aperture by 2 stops. A carefully positioned lens release mechanism also makes it easy to mount the extenders quickly, reducing the time the camera and lenses are exposed to the environment.
