SONY PDW-F800

Specifications Sony's top-of-the-line XDCAM HD422 series is being adopted around the world due to its file-based recording capability using extremely reliable and high quality Professional Disc media. Due to the newly developed HD422 MPEG codec, the XDCAM HD422 series offers high quality video and audio recording capabilities with 1920 x 1080 image resolution and 24-bit, 8-channel uncompressed audio. Now, Sony is proud to announce a new and efficient edition for the series - the PDW-F800 Camcorder. The PDW-F800 delivers the flexibility of recording in a variety of formats - including SD recording and a frame rate of 23.98P in 1080 mode. The PDW-F800 Camcorder extends the capabilities of the PDW-700 Camcorder. IT / Network Compliant In the Sony XDCAM series of products, recordings are made as data files in the industry standard MXF (Material eXchange Format) file format. This allows materials to be handled with great flexibility in an IT-based environment: easily available for copying, transferring, sharing and archiving. All operations are performed without the need for a scanning process. File-based data copying delivers duplication of AV content without degradation, which can easily be performed on a PC. The file-based recording system also allows the materials to be viewed directly on a PC; Just link it to the XDCAM unit using an i.LINK connection. This works the same way a PC reads files on an external drive. The PDW-F800 XDCAM HD422 comes equipped with computer-based and IT-compatible interfaces. These include an i.LINK interface compatible with the Standard File Access Mode and Ethernet * interface. Easy maintenance and high reliability XDCAM HD422 products use the same platform as XDCAM products worldwide. They share the advantage of having no mechanical contact between the equipment and the recording media, reaching a level of resistance and media with an extended service life. XDCAM HD422 products also offer the same high shock and vibration resistance as other XDCAM products. Powerful non-linear recording XDCAM HD products use a high-capacity non-linear optical disc for recording, called Professional Disc media, which Sony has developed specifically for professional recording applications. The PFD50DLA and PFD23A are 12cm reusable optical discs. The PFD50DLA is a dual-layer disc with excellent GB capacity, and the PFD23A is a 23 GB single-layer disc. The high capacity of the PFD50DLA can record up to 95 minutes of high quality MPEG HD422 material. The Professional Disc is highly reliable and rugged, as it does not include any mechanical contact during recording or playback, and is protected in an extremely durable and dust-resistant disc cartridge. Non-contact playback and recording make it the ideal media for long-term AV asset storage. If you need to periodically rewind traditional tape archiving systems to remove magnetic powder wastes, the Professional Disc will completely eliminate the process.
