The PXW-FS7 is the result of years of intense conversations between us and documentary filmmakers. In response, we reshape the entire loop, refine the display, optimize balance, and refine ergonomics. Of course, FS7 also translates Sony's expertise into 4K and HD codecs, Super 35 sensors and memory recording. The result is the ideal camera for documentaries and the best tool for magazine shows, reality shows, impromptu shows and more.
State-of-the-art memory
Long format programs require reliable and affordable media. As specified by the CompactFlash Association, XQD ™ memory cards are highly rated on both accounts. Reliability is guaranteed by the camera's recovery. You profit at an extremely low cost per minute compared to CFast ™ cards. In addition, robust communication between the camera and the card controller enables convenient read / write speeds of up to 600 Mbps.
Luxurious colors at economical bit rates
Long-format projects are remarkable with Sony's XAVC ™ L (Long GOP) recording system. Here we have the superior reproduction of 10-bit high-definition gray scale, plus the guaranteed detail of 4: 2: 2 color, all at budget rates ranging from 50, 35 or even 25 Mbps in HD mode. You can also make internal 4K recording (4096 x 2160) with 24p *, 59.94p, 50p, 29.97p, 23.98p or 25p movie standard. Other formats include the same XAVC I (Intra) QFHD (3840 x 2160) and Full HD (1920 x 1080) recordings of Sony's sophisticated F55, the well-accepted MPEG HD 422, Apple ProRes 422 codec (with XDCA- FS7, sold separately) and even external RAW recording (with the XDCA-FS7 and an external recorder sold separately).
